Patrolling officers quickly rounded up three suspects following reports a shop had been robbed.

Police were called at 3.55pm on Wednesday (14 October) after a Newark store was reportedly targeted.

Three men at that stage went inside the Ossington Way-based shop, grabbed bottles of alcohol and left.

When staff members followed the trio and challenged them, they were then reportedly threatened with violence.

Having heard about the incident, officers conducted an area search and quickly found three people matching the description.

When multiple bottles of alcohol were recovered by police, they arrested three men – aged 33, 38 and 48 – on suspicion of robbery.
