East Midlands Ambulance Service says it experienced another period of high demand on Thursday morning.
The service warned some patients could face longer waits for an ambulance despite staff and volunteers working across the region.
People were urged to call 999 only for life-threatening emergencies while crews dealt with the increased pressure.
