Dale Wherton, who teaches brickwork at West Nottinghamshire College’s Station Park construction campus in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, won the national Super Trowel final.
He laid 859 bricks in one hour at Hertfordshire County Showground on Saturday 1 August.
The competition tests both speed and the quality of bricklaying work.
Dale’s win earned him a prize package including a Ford Transit Custom and more than £5,000 worth of tools and machinery.
He will now travel to Las Vegas in January 2027 to represent Great Britain at the SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500.
The college says his success is already inspiring students to consider regional and national trade competitions.
