Mansfield District Council and Steve Yemm MP have announced plans for five play parks and a multi-use games area.
The projects are being funded through the Government’s Pride in Place Impact Fund.
The initial sites are Pencil Park, Ladybrook Park, Peafield Park, The Carrs, Oak Tree Estate and Manor Park.
The council says the focus will be on creating accessible spaces that can be enjoyed by children and young people of all abilities.
A public consultation has now been launched to help shape the design of the new facilities.
The council is especially keen to hear from children, parents, carers, schools, SEND providers, disability organisations and community groups.
