Mansfield District Council has apologised after some bins were missed over the last few days.
The council says the disruption has been caused by several factors, including major road closures and vehicle breakdowns.
Residents whose streets have been affected are being asked to leave their bins out.
The council says missed bins will be collected as soon as possible and people do not need to report them.
