Classical music helps cut McDonald’s ASB

Nottinghamshire Police says youth anti-social behaviour at the McDonald’s in Mills Way, Manton, has dropped significantly.

A problem management plan was introduced in January after ongoing issues at the restaurant.

Measures have included classical music in the evening, switching off free Wi-Fi and charging points at set times, and placing staff at the entrance during key periods.

Body-worn video cameras have also been provided to staff as a deterrent and to offer extra support.

Police say reported ASB incidents peaked at 12 in March, but there were none in May and three in July.

Officers say they will continue patrols, monthly meetings with McDonald’s management and further targeted action where needed.
