Police are investigating after a British woman died while trying to rescue her two sons off the Bahamas coast.
The 36-year-old attempted to help her children who had reportedly been swept away by a strong current off the island of Bimini.
The Royal Bahamas Police Force said officers believe the victim was snorkelling with her husband and sons near the southern point of the island when the tragedy happened on Tuesday.
In an attempt to rescue her sons, "the woman was also swept away", police said.
She was then rescued and officers were told just after 10am on Tuesday that the woman was taken to the North Bimini ferry dock where she was unresponsive.
They said CPR was reportedly given before she was taken to a local clinic where she was pronounced dead by a doctor.
The force said in a statement: "Foul play is not suspected at this time.
"An autopsy will be conducted to assist in determining the exact cause of death."
The children were rescued from the water.
