A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle following a police stop in Mansfield.
Officers initially stopped the man in Hardwick Street on Thursday, mistakenly believing he was wanted on recall to prison.
During a roadside search at around 2.50pm, officers discovered two bank cards which they subsequently linked to a campervan break-in earlier that morning.
A wallet, digital car play set and sunglasses had reportedly been stolen from the vehicle.
Police say the discovery led to the man's arrest on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle.
