A developer had lodged plans for more than 80 homes near three Nottinghamshire villages.
Developer Norcroft Asset Group has submitted plans to Ashfield District Council to build a new housing estate on a mostly empty patch of land off Wild Hill, in Teversal, north west of Sutton-in-Ashfield.
The land, which sits to the south of Wild Hill next to the junction with Chesterfield Road, is split into two fields and sits to the west of the villages of Teversal and Stanton Hill and to the north of Huthwaite. The village of Tibshelf in neighbouring Derbyshire, sits to the west.
Documents say the space is currently used as a horse paddock, but the developer’s plans mean an extra 84 homes could be added, with 63 proposed for the private market and 21 classed as affordable.
Of the private market homes, there would be six two-bed homes and 57 three-bed homes.
For the affordable properties, this includes an apartment block, containing four one-bed apartments proposed as affordable rent, along with 17 two-bed houses classed as ‘First Homes’.
Plans show vehicle access would come from an existing access point to the field off Wild Hill, while a section to the south of the site would be saved as public open space looking out onto the countryside.
Ashfield District Council will decide on this housing development at a later stage.
