Genesis Championship: Yuto Katsuragawa secures victory finishing two shots ahead of Frederic Lacroix and Martin Couvra

Yuto Katsuragawa secured his second DP World Tour title with a two-shot victory at the Genesis Championship in South Korea on Sunday.

A day after scoring a flawless 8-under 63 in the third round to tie the course record at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club, the Japanese player, who won his first title more than two years ago at the ISPS Handa Championship in Japan, shot a more circumspect even-par 71 in the final round as he maintained his comfortable advantage in the final holes, despite a tap-in bogey at the last.

After four rounds 28-year-old Katsuragawa was 13 under, two shots ahead of French pair Frederic Lacroix (68) and Martin Couvra (69).

Japan's Katsuragawa entered the week in 106th place on the Race to Dubai Rankings, fighting to keep his playing privileges for the 2027 season. This has catapulted him to 28th and guaranteed his spot in the two Rolex Series events in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

South African golfer Casey Jarvis (72), who was in second place going into Sunday's championship round, fell back into a tie for fourth with seven other players, including British Open champion Ryan Fox (70) at 10 under.

Jarvis was seeking a third win of the 2026 season, after the Kenya Open and South African Open in February, to close in on the top three in the Race to Dubai standings - Eugenio Chacarra, Patrick Reed and Rory McIlroy.

Reed and McIlroy did not compete this week. Chacarra, who is No 1 in the standings after winning in India last week, finished seven shots back at 6 under, tied for 22nd.

There are two more events left in the European tour season, in Abu Dhabi and then Dubai.

'The greatest moment of my life'

Katsuragawa said: "After the first win, I had such a hard time, struggling with that time, but having the second win, this is definitely the greatest moment of my life.

"I was nervous, not just for the victory but also about the seed for the DP World Tour so it was double nervous for me but I think I got through.

"I had a good image from the first victory, I just kept that good feeling about it and I came for the second win.

"I'm very happy because to play on the DP World Tour is something I need in my life and I am very happy to play in Dubai."
